It is crazy how many people report issues with their tablets not showing as input devices in GIMP on Windows 10. When my daughter replaced her Wacom Bamboo with a Wacom ONE (CTL-472) all of a sudden the tablet was no longer recognized by GIMP. I tried to fix the issue for an hour but the tablet refused to show up in the settings. Running out of ideas I plugged the tablet into a different USB port and restarted GIMP. And – TADAAA! – issue solved.
Before I finally solved the issue I tried this:
- Restart GIMP (many times)
- Disconnect / Reconnect Tablet
- Reboot Windows
- Delete old WACOM devices in the input devices section (they were greyed out)
- Update tablet driver
- Uninstall tablet in device manager
- Start GIMP with the tablet (Instead of clicking with the mouse)
- Change device type in device manager
- Open GIMP with “use wintab” parameter
I have the exact same problem.
I resently got at One bu Wacom (CTL-672).
After opening GIMP, the wacom devices in the input devices section (they were greyed out), so I deleted them.
Now I can’t seem to get them back. I Have updated drivers, restretd gimp, restarted the computer, tried a different USB-port… nothing.
Any help would be apreciated.
